Our base rate, which applies to one child, is $25 per hour.  For two or more children add $3 per child per hour to the base rate.  Sitters for groups of 5 or more children are assigned in accordance with our Corporate/Group Rate Schedule.

The minimum period of service is 3 hours per sitter visit.  We will charge for 3 hours even if the sitter is dismissed earlier.  All charges above the initial 3 hours will be prorated to the next half-hour.

Home Helpers

The minimum period of service is two hours.  Please call for details and current rate information.

Time Slips

Time slips document the starting and ending times of each session.  Please complete and sign your sitters’ time slip before you dismiss them.  Keep a copy for your records.

Gratuities

Our rate does not include a gratuity.  However, it is permissible to tip your sitter in cash.

We encourage our sitters to take an active, fun approach to childcare.  However, the following are not permitted unless a parent or responsible adult relative is present: transporting children in a vehicle of any kind, and bringing children to the beach or the pool.

Transportation

When necessary, clients are responsible for transportation of babysitters to and from their homes.

Cancellation

Upon reservation of services, we require a deposit by credit card of 3 hours fee per sitter per session, applicable to the first hour of services reserved with Nantucket Babysitters’ Service, Inc.  This fee is nonrefundable in the event of cancellation by the client.  For same-day cancellations you will be charged for 3 hours of service per sitter reserved.
